Where did we come from?
Names, places, photographs, records, stories, and the occasional mystery that refuses to explain itself.
Start with the story →This is the family corner of the internet: part history, part archive, part collection of things that were too interesting to throw away.
Names, places, photographs, records, stories, and the occasional mystery that refuses to explain itself.
Start with the story →Trepinski, Trepiński, and the variations that appeared as the family moved, married, crossed borders, and wrote things down differently.
Follow the rabbit hole →Old photographs. Odd stories. Useful information. Things somebody thought were worth saving. In other words: family stuff.
See what’s here →Family trees are useful places to start. They are not, however, the whole story.
Once you start looking, the simple questions tend to become less simple. Who was that person? Where did they actually live? Which spelling did they use? Which record is right? And why does one perfectly respectable database insist that somebody is dead when they very much are not?
So this site is being built as the answers emerge — with photographs, documents, stories, and the evidence behind them.
Read about the project →Some websites are businesses. Some are portfolios. Some are trying very hard to sell you something. This one is mostly here because the name exists, the family exists, and the internet gives us a place to put things.
If you’ve arrived because someone gave you a Trepinski.com address, there’s probably a reason. If you’ve arrived because you’re researching the name, welcome. And if you just wandered in — that’s fine too.
If it belongs somewhere in the family record, send it along. We can figure out what to do with it.
I’d love to hear about it →A few parts of Trepinski.com may be private or practical rather than genealogical. They’ll live here quietly, without turning the front door into a control panel.
